JUST RIGHT: A GOLDILOCKS GUIDE TO
CHOICE OF ENTITY

GENE WOLF
Sponsored by Armanino and Wealth Advisors Trust Company
Choosing a business entity sets the course for everything that follows - how the business is taxed, how it raises money, who controls it, and how the owners eventually exit. Too much structure adds cost and complexity. Too little can leave owners exposed or facing tax bills they never planned for. This program helps advisors find the structure that's "just right" for each client.
Gene Wolf is a native El Pasoan. He earned his B.B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from Baylor School of Law. He began practicing law at Kemp Smith LLP as an associate in 1991 and has been a partner since 1997. Gene is a member of the Business Department with practice emphasis on tax, corporate, estate and business planning, is a member of the firm’s Management Committee, and is its immediate-past Managing Partner. Gene serves on the Board of Directors of Hunt Companies, Inc. and as chair of the Governance Committee. He also serves on several other client-company boards, including Westgate Corp. and Dorsar Investment Management LLC. Gene is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Gene is currently serving as the President of the Texas Federal Tax Institute and a board member and officer of the Texas Real Estate & Probate Institute (T-REP), which exists to improve the real estate, probate, and trust laws of the State of Texas. Gene is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, the State Bar of Texas and the El Paso Bar Association.
