Traditionally, estate planning has catered to nuclear families with predominantly male wealth creators, under the assumption that familial wealth will be passed directly to children. Yet, given the growing economic influence of women and the next generation, plus the rise of modern family structures, the planning dynamic has shifted, creating new challenges — and opportunities — for both clients and advisors. In this session, Steph and Nike will explore how family dynamics are changing and share strategies for advisors to better serve the needs of women and rising generations now and in the future.\n \nSteph L. Wagner is responsible for leading Northern Trust’s advisory practice for women and oversees its Elevating Women platform. Her personal story is one of reinvention: from private equity vice president to stay-at-home mom, to single mother fearful about her financial security, to successful businesswoman. This journey inspired Steph to devote her life to educating and empowering women to take charge of their financial lives. Today, Steph is a nationally recognized thought leader on the intersection of women and wealth. She has developed a specialized expertise in utilizing financial strategies and empowering women with the resources to maximize their financial success. Steph’s expertise has been featured in Entrepreneur magazine, MarketWatch, Fox News, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, Barron’s and Bloomberg. Steph is a graduate of the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.\n \nNikè Anani is the Director of Next Gen Advisory for Northern Trust Wealth Management and oversees its Rising Gen platform. In her role, she prepares next generation family members for the complexities of wealth ownership. Her personal experience as a second generation owner and family office founder is the inspiration behind her passion for helping other next gens find their voice and become successful stewards. An accomplished speaker and author on wealth and values transfer strategies, Nikè is the host of “The Connected Generation” podcast and the author of “Lifetime to Legacy: A New Vision for Multigenerational Family Businesses.” Nikè earned an economics degree from University College London, is a chartered accountant and has a certificate in Family Business and Family Wealth Advising from Family Firm Institute.\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \nThere is continuing ed credit approved for this presentation.
