(Dick) Nenno (Senior Managing Director and Trust Counsel, Wilmington Trust Company, Wilmington, Delaware) will alert attendees to benefits that some clients might achieve by creating trusts outside Texas.  He will begin with a summary of benefits of Delaware trusts and follow with a detailed discussion of domestic asset protection trusts in Alaska, Nevada, and South Dakota as well as in Delaware.  Following the program, attendees will know the instances in which a Texan might benefit by creating a trust in another state, particularly Delaware.  Directed trusts, dynasty trusts, and spendthrift trusts will be covered.  Attendees also will know the potential uses of domestic APTs, how to create and defend them, and which jurisdiction is best.  Richard W. Nenno, Esquire, is a Senior Managing Director and Trust Counsel in Wealth Advisory at Wilmington Trust Company, Wilmington, Delaware.  Dick has over 35 years of estate planning experience and is admitted to the practice of law in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an observer for the Drafting Committee on Amendments to the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act, a member of the Bloomberg BNA Estates, Gifts, and Trusts Advisory Board, a Distinguished Accredited Estate Planner, and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust in 1982, he was an associate in the Estates Department of the Philadelphia law firm of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll. Dick is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University with an A.B. degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
